HUMPRHEYS COUNTY, situated toward the western part of Tennessee, with Tennessee river on the west. Area, 475 square miles. Face of the country diversified; soil generally productive. Seat of justice, Waverly. Pop. in 1820 4,057; in 1830, 6,189; in 1840, 5,195; in 1850, 6,422.
