Face of the country beautifully varied, with high mountains and fruitful valleys; soil rich and well cultivated. Seat of justice, Catskill. Pop. in 1810, 19,536; in 1820, 22,996; in 1830, 29,525; in 1840, 30,446; in 1850, 33,126.
