In Pennsylvania, visitors begin to throng into Gettysburg for the upcoming visit of President Lincoln

Visitors began to arrive in numbers in Gettysburg, ahead of the highly anticipated visit of President Lincoln for the dedication of the new National Cemetery on the edge of the town.  By Wednesday trains were arriving regularly with even more people.  Lincoln arrived that evening by special train from Washington, and spent the night at the home of David Wills on the town square.  The dedication took place the following day.
