The Resolute Baseball Club of Brooklyn hosted the visiting Athletic Club of Philadelphia at an afternoon match at the Union Ground in Brooklyn. In a two and a half hour match, the visitors took control in the fifth inning and ran out handy winners by a score of 39 to 14. Following the game, the clubs shared a dinner at the Maison Doree in Brooklyn. The Athletic Club played Gotham the next day in Hoboken before returning home. (By John Osborne)
