For the second time in two days, a steamship rescues the crew of a sinking vessel off South Carolina.

The day before, the steamship George Cromwell had rescued forty-three people from the sinking of the Daniel Webster, off the South Carolina coast in hurricane scale weather.  Now, her crew rescued the five people aboard the Baltimore schooner Minnehaha, bound from Savannah, Georgia to Richmond, Virginia which had also been caught in the storm and was sinking.
