King Wilhelm I appoints Otto von Bismarck as Minister-President of Prussia

In an attempt to break an impasse with the Prussian parliament over military spending, King Wilhelm I appointed thirty-six year old Otto von Bismarck, a staunch imperialist and proponent of German unification, as Minister-President of Prussia. (By Brian Bockelman)
