    Abolition Bunkum.

A bill, introduced by Mr. Daily, of Nemaha, to ABOLISH and PROHIBIT SLAVERY in Nebraska, is now pending in the Legislature. It is of course favored by the Republicans, who expect to make a little capital by the agitation of a subject with which they have no more to do than with “Booriaboola Gha [Borrioboola-Gha].” Every school boy knows that slavery cannot practically exist in any community, without municipal protection. And the idea of abolishing slavery in a Territory where it does not exist, and prohibiting it where no one desires its introduction, is too Quixotic to be seriously entertained. Why does not some Republican introduce a bill to abolish and prohibit punishment with the knout?
