CLINTON COUNTY, situated toward the north part of Pennsylvania, and traversed by the west branch of Susquehanna river. Area, 840 square miles. Face of the country mountainous and hilly. Soil varied. Seat of justice, Lock Haven. Pop. in 1840, 8,323; in 1850, 11,207.
