Dickinson College holds annual commencement ceremonies

Dickinson College, at its annual commencement ceremonies, grants baccalaureate degrees to twenty-eight members of the class of 1848.  John Andrew Jackson Creswell, who delivers the valedictory, will go on to represent Maryland in the U.S. Congress during the Civil War and later will serve as Postmaster General in President Grant's cabinet.
