LINCOLN COUNTY, situated on the southerly boundary of Maine, on the Atlantic ocean, and traversed by Kennebec river. Face of the country diversified; soil productive. Area, 950 square miles. Seat of justice, Wiscasset. Pop. in 1810, 42,992; in 1820, 53,189; in 1830, 57,181; in 1840, 63,517; in 1850, 74,878. (Fanning's, 1853)
