FREE VS. SLAVE. – In 1850, when the young Free State of Iowa had but 102,000 inhabitants, the slave State of Texas has 212,392. In salubrity of climate, fertility and resources of soil, and extent of country Texas is infinitely superior to Iowa, yet now Free Iowa has over 600,000 inhabitants, while a census just taken shows the population of Texas to be 458,620. Here is a lesson for those who think the pro-slavery Democracy should rule Kansas. Let them study it.
