PIKE COUNTY, situated in the east part of Kentucky, with Big Sandy river on the northeast. Area, 400 square miles. Face of the country, hilly. Seat of justice, Piketon. Pop. in 1830, 2,677; in 1840, 3,567; in 1850, 5,365. (Fanning's, 1853)
