PUTNAM COUNTY, situated in the northwest part of Ohio, and traversed by Auglaize river. Area, 376 square miles. Face of the country, even; soil productive where not marshy. Seat of justice, Kalida. Pop. in 1830, 230; in 1840, 5,189; in 1850, 7,221. (Fanning's, 1853)
