Edward Warren appointed professor of medicine at University of Maryland Medical School

Edward Warren was a North Carolinian doctor who had studied in Philadelphia and Paris.  After a time in practice with his father in Edenton, North Carolina he was named as chair of Matcria Medica and Therapeutics in the University of Maryland.  He later contributed distinguished service the the Confederacy, and in 1873 served as the surgeon in chief of the Egyptian Army.  He moved to Paris in France and opened a highly successful practice and died there in 1893.  (By John Osborne)
