Creamer, George B.

George B. Creamer was born in 1841 in Albany, New York and was the son of Thomas Creamer, the sheriff of Baltimore. After graduating from Dickinson and joining an insurance firm, Creamer enlisted as a Union volunteer in the Tenth Maryland Regiment. He entered the auction business after the war and worked for a firm he co-established until he died, unmarried, in 1894. (By Brandon Rothenberg)
