HIGHLAND COUNTY, situated in the southern part of Ohio. Area, 555 square miles. Face of the country an elevated, moderately undulated table-land; soil fertile. Seat of justice, Hillsborough. Pop. in 1810, 5,766; in 1820, 12,308; in 1830, 16,347; in 1840, 22,269; in 1850, 25,781.
