HUNTERDON COUNTY, situated on the western boundary of New Jersey, with Delaware river on the southwest. Area, 345 square miles. Face of the country mountainous and hilly; soil generally productive. Seat of justice, Flemington. Pop. in 1810, 24,553; in 1820, 28,604; in 1830, 31,066; in 1840, 24,789; in 1850, 28,981.
