Parker, Joseph Benson

Joseph Benson Parker, born on June 20, 1841 in Bloomfield, Perry County, Pennsylvania, entered Dickinson in 1856 and pursued a career in medicine. He graduated from a medical college in New York and entered the Navy as an assistant surgeon in March 1863. He married in 1868 and after a long career as a doctor he retired in 1903 as a rear admiral with credit to his service in the Civil War. He died on October 21, 1915. (By Brandon Rothenberg)
