Becket, Isaac

Isaac Becket was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1842 and later served in the United States Colored Troops. According to Becket’s service records, he worked as a waiter before the Civil War. In July 1863 he joined the 3rd USCT Regiment in Philadelphia. His regiment participated in several operations at Fort Wagner, South Carolina and in Florida. Becket mustered out on October 31, 1865 while stationed at Jacksonville, Florida. While the date of his death is unclear, Becket was buried at the Philadelphia National Cemetery. (By Don Sailer)
