John A. Fauset

John A. Fauset was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and served in the United States Colored Troops during the Civil War. According to his service records, Fauset worked as a brickmaker before he joined Company D of the 24th USCT on February 16, 1865 in Philadelphia. While appointed Sergeant on February 23, 1865, Fauset was reduced to ranks on August 1, 1865 and transferred to Company K. Fauset regained his position as Sergeant on September 15, but fifteen days later he was mustered out in Richmond, Virginia. (By Don Sailer)
