In Ohio, a massive Union meeting at Mount Vernon in Knox County reaffirms Ohio's loyalty

A massive Unionist meeting was held at Mount Vernon in Knox County, Ohio, in the center of the state.  With General Columbus Delano presiding, an afternoon crowd of 20,000 heard from Governor David Tod, John Sherman, Samuel Galloway, and others, with the speeches especially aimed at showing that, in the wake of the recent Vallandigham controversy, Ohio was overwhelmingly loyal to the Union.  (By John Osborne)
