At ten o'clock in the morning President Lincoln's remains reach Baltimore to lie in state there for several hours

The murdered president's body arrived in Baltimore, Maryland aboard its special train at ten a.m., directly from Washington, D.C. His coffin was taken to the Merchant's Hall in the city where it lay in state for several hours before being returned to the train for the next leg of its twelve-day journey across Maryland and Pennsylvania to Harrisburg where it rested for the night in the hall of the State House in the Pennsylvania Capitol.
