Abraham Lincoln's funeral train made a lengthy journey from Albany to Buffalo, New York, arriving at 7 a.m.. The coffin was removed to the St. James Hall in the town and remained there for viewing until eight o'clock in the evening. Former President Millard Fillmore was among the estimated forty thousand paying their respects. The remains resumed their journey westward at ten p.m. bound for Cleveland, Ohio. (By John Osborne)
