TYNER, James Noble, a Representative from Indiana; born in Brookville, Franklin County, Ind., January 17, 1826; pursued an academic course, and was graduated from Brookville Academy in 1844; spent ten years in business; studied law; was admitted to the bar in 1857 and commenced practice in Peru, Ind.; secretary of the State senate 1857-1861; special agent of the Post Office Department 1861-1866; elected as a Republican to the Forty-first Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Representative-elect Daniel D.
