IMPORTANT NEWS FROM KANSAS.-A letter dated Leavenworth, Kansas, December 18, says the polls were not opened in some places, on account of the fear of violence from Missourians. At Leavenworth, the ballot boxes and poll books were destroyed, and some of the clerks of election nearly killed. Threats were made to destroy the Register's office. In several counties, no election was held, the citizens were being overawed by Missourians.
