The new Louisville and Nashville Railroad was seen as a significant opening up of the entire Ohio River Valley and the entire state legislatures of Kentucky and Tennessee traveled from Louisville, Kentucky to Columbus, Ohio to meet in convention with the Ohio Assembly. On Friday, they returned to Cincinnati where the city hosted them with lavish celebration and scores of speeches. The legislators left for home the following day. (By John Osborne)
