GOV. DENNISON REFUSES TO SURRENDER THEM.

The National Democrat of this morning publishes, with a column of abuse of the Governor, the following letter, to wit:

STATE OF OHIO, EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT,
COLUMBUS, March 8, 1860.

M. JOHNSON, Esq., Cleveland:

I have examined the requisitions of the Governor of Virginia, and their accompanying documents, for the extradition of Owen Brown and Francis Merriam, which you delivered to me on the 6th instant, and have decided not to issue either of the warrants asked for. The reasons for this conclusion I have communicated to the Governor of Virginia.

It was shrewd in the Democrat to abuse the Governor before his reasons for declining the demand made by the Virginia Executive are made public, for when those reasons are published every man of good, unbiased common sense will, no doubt, be satisfied that Gov. Dennison perfectly understands the constitution and the law of comity that governs such cases.
