Fight between elderly room-mates in the New York City Almshouse results in death

A fight between two elderly residents of New York City's almshouse on Blackwell's Island resulted in the death of sixty year-old Lorenzo Faber.  During an argument about leaving the door open, Faber's room-mate, seventy-two year-old William Santey, responded to a punch from Faber with several return blows with a stick.  Faber collapsed and died of what the coroner said was congestion of the lungs.  Santey was held for the Grand Jury.  (By John Osborne)
