The Prince of Wales is in Washington, DC, hosted at the White House

The Prince and his party had left Harrisburg, Pennsylvania the previous afternoon and after a brief stop in Baltimore arrived Washington, DC that evening. Welcomed by the Secretary of State at the station, the party went to the White House where the Prince was to be hosted.  On this day, the British heir toured the U.S. Capitol, attended a state dinner, and watched fireworks in his honor from the balcony of the White House.
