PRINCE GOERGE'S COUNTY, situated on the southwesterly boundary of Maryland, with Potomac river on the southwest, and the Patuxent on the east.  Area, 575 square miles.  Face of the country, uneven; soil of middling quality.  Seat of justice, Upper Mariborough.  Pop. 1810, 20,569; in 1820, 20,216; in 1830, 20,473; in 1840, 19539; in 1850, 21,550.
