Juniata is right on the Senatorial question, and can't be made any thing else. The Locofocos have not even had a dream lately of defeating you, and they have distributed nearly all their tickets, and the candidates for county officers have been round in the several districts distributing made up tickets. Rest assured that their best man could not now get any thing like the party vote, and unless something most extraordinary occurs, they will make no effort at all for Senator. We have got them most confoundedly scared about the county officers, and they will not be willing to take any more passengers on their omnibus when it is cracking already. Depend upon it that against any man who can now be sprung on the party, you must have from 300 to 500 majority in this county; and I doubt whether our Locos would be at all willing to give any encouragement to any body now. You will get the solid Whig vote, and a little more. I will telegraph to you the returns. Yours truly A K McClure
