Charlotte County, VA

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, situated in the southerly part of Virginia, on the northeast side of Staunton river. Area 600 square miles; surface pleasantly variegated by hill and dale; soil excellent and well watered. Seat of justice, Marysville, or Charlotte Court House. Pop. tn 1820, 13,290: in 1830, 15,254; in 1840, 14,595; in 1850, 13,955. (Fanning's, 1853)
