CUMBERLAND COUNTY, situated on the southeast boundary of New Jersey on Delaware bay. Area, 524 square miles. Face of the county generally level; soil sandy. Seat of justice, Bridgetown. Pop. in 1820, 12,668; in 1830, 14,091; in 1840, 14,374; in 1850, 17,189.
