SICKLES. – The New York correspondent of the Taunton (Mass.) Gazette, says:
I believe when I wrote you, we were all alive with the Sickles excitement. The story is dead now, and that persecuted gentleman may be seen in Broadway, any fine morning, enjoying his cigar with as much tranquility as if he had never been in danger of being hanged – if, indeed, he ever was. Some of his friends gave him, a few days ago, at Delmonico’s, one of those splendid little dinners which only Delmonico can get up.
