    Bill of Sale for Negro Slave
    May 6, 1857

    We have this day sold and hereby Convey to Andrew Johnson, his heirs and assigns forever, for one thousand and fifteen Dollars, to us paid, a Boy slave, named Henry and about thirteen years of age. We warrant the title to said slave to the said Andrew Johnson his heirs and assigns against the lawful claim of all persons, and we also warrant him to be sound, healthy, sensible and a Slave for life[.]
