CAMDEN COUNTY, situated in the northeast part of North Carolina, on the northeast side of Pasquotauk river. Area, 228 square miles. Face of the country level; soil thin and generally sterile. Seat of justice, Jonesburgh. Pop. in 1820, 6,305; in 1830, 6,721; in 1840, 5,663; in 1850, 6,049. (Fanning's, 1853)
