St. Louis, Wednesday, May 7, 1857.
Messrs. Price and Lusk.—Gentleman: I found a letter from each of you waiting for me, here on my arrival at this place, and as they are both to the same point I answer them together, to save myself some trouble. It was a poor and miserable perversion of my letter to Col. Brant, to represent
