Smith, John E.

John E. Smith was born in Pennsylvania around 1828 and served in the 3rd United States Colored Troops. According to his service records, Smith worked as a laborer before the Civil War. Smith was drafted on December 22, 1864 and joined Company B of the 3rd USCT. His military service ended on October 31, 1865 while stationed at Jacksonville, Florida. (By Don Sailer)
