ALLEN COUNTY, situated in the northwestern part of Ohio, drained by the tributaries of Auglaize, St. Mary's, and Miami rivers, and the Miami canal. This county is about 24 miles square, and contains 554 square miles. The face of the country is flat, comprising a portion of a vast table-land, generally fertile and productive. Courts are held at Lima. Pop. in 1830, 578; in 1840, 9,079; in 1850, 12,109.
