TIOGA COUNTY, situated on the south boundary of New York, and traversed by Susquehanna river. Area, 490 square miles. Face of the country, hilly; soil, fertile and well watered. Seat of justice, Owego. Pop. in 1810, 7,899; in 1820, 14,716; in 1830, 27,690; in 1840, 20,527; in 1850, 24,880.
