    Minnesota Election: - The recent election in Minnesota for delegate to the Constitutional Convention, resulted in the success of the Democracy. From the St. Paul Pioneer we extract the following:
    In the Stillwater District the Democracy have elected their entire ticket of six delegates to the Constitutional Convention. St. Paul district has been equally successful, annihilating the Black Republican and all other opposition. The Democracy throughout the territory have elected thirty five Delegates and the Black Republicans, only eleven, which may be set down a as sign of victory.
    Minnesota sends greeting to the National Democracy of the Union, the glorious intelligence, that another star—a North Star—will speedily be added to the brilliant galaxy of Democratic States.
    The opposition made desperate efforts to carry the election. Abolition orators were imported to preach treason and nullification; but in the districts visited by them, the Democracy have uniformly gained. Is not this a glorious commentary on the intelligence and patriotism of people? The issues involved in the election were misrepresented—the principle of the Democratic part misstated and slandered by these import [illegible], but all to no purpose.
    The returns, so far as received, indicate not only that the Democrats have maintained their ground, but that they have gained largely as the [illegible]. Sweeping [illegible] districts, and [illegible] portions of their ticket at least, in Republican strongholds. We feel confident that upon a Democratic Convention the [illegible] will [illegible] forming a Constitution for the future Democratic State of Minnesota. Is not this glorious news to send abroad, fellow Democrats?
