More than a month after the unprecedented rioting in New York, the draft lottery was resumed in the city's Ninth Ward. The Fifteenth Ward followed the next day, and the Sixteenth on Friday. By the end of the week 3,075 names had been drawn. Manhattan saw a healthy military presence but there were no incidents reported during or after the drawings. (By John Osborne)
