In Detroit, the Board of Trade hosts a Commercial Convention of North American business interests

In May 1865, the Detroit Board of Trade issued an invitation to the Boards of Trade and Chambers of Commerce of United States and Canada to attend a Convention in the city to discuss important business issues. Many from across the nation took up the invitation and the "Commercial Convention" was held betweem July 11 and July 14, 1865 in Detroit.  (By John Osborne)
