Desperate Riots in Baltimore.
BALTIMORE, Wednesday, Oct. 14.P. M.
There were riots here last night. The Turner Hall, a German tavern, was attacked by a political club. Windows were smashed in several other sections of the City last night. The American procession were fired into by Democrats, and the houses from which the shots were fired were sacked. A number of persons were wounded, including four police officers. The election for the City Council is progressing quietly this morning, but warm work is apprehended.

A riot broke out this afternoon between the Americans of the Fifth and the Democrats of the Eight Wards. Muskets and pistols were freely used, and it is said that several persons were killed.
The police captured a quantity of muskets at Jackson Hall, in the Eight Ward. Police Officer JORDAN was killed, and others were wounded. It is thought several persons were killed.
Another riot is reported as progressing at Lexington Market, in the western section of the city. The police captured a quantity of firearms from the New-Market Engine-house.
Later.—The election to-day has resulted in the success of the American ticket in every Ward in the city except the Eighth. In many of the Wards the Democrats had no candidates. The vote polled is very small.
The riots have all been quelled. So far only one person is known to be dead, policeman Jordan. Several are badly wounded, mostly police officers.
