GOLD HUNTERS. – It is said that the gold excitement is breaking out afresh in the Fraser River region. The San Francisco papers are publishing statistics to prevent another rush for the diggings from that State. It is stated by the San Francisco Herald that last year thirty thousand American miners, men practically versed in the business, explored the whole Fraser River country, and that not one returned more wealthy by reason of the gold, though some made money by speculation. The same paper figures up a loss of $4,500,00 expended in the acquisition of $900,000 gold.

The Pike’s Peak people were starving at last accounts.
