Gloucester schooner lost off the coast of Maine and eleven sailors drown

Around ten o'clock in the evening, the Gloucester, Massachusetts schooner Neptune's Bride was caught in a storm and driven onto the rocks of Malcom's Ledge off the coast of Maine.  Of the thirteen men aboard, all but two were lost.  One climbed the mast and held on for twelve hours before he was rescued and the other was found clinging to the schooner's overturned boat.
