BLOUNT COUNTY, on the southeast boundary of Tennessee, with Tennessee river on the northwest. Area, 900 square miles. The face of the country is hilly and the soil varied. Seat of justice, Maryville. Pop. in 1820, 11,258; in 1830, 11,028; in 1840, 11,745; in 1850, 12,382.
