Cayuga County, NY

CAYUGA COUNTY, situated toward the western part of New York, with Cayuga lake on the west, Skaneateles lake on the east, and Lake Ontario on the north; watered, also, by Seneca river, Owasco lake, and the Erie canal. Area, 648 square miles. Face of the country somewhat hilly, with a very productive soil. Seat of justice, Auburn. Pop. in 1820, 38,897; in 1830, 47,947; in 1840, 50,338; in 1850, 55,460.
