School for the physically disabled incorporated in New York City

A school for the physically disabled was incorporated under the auspices of the New York Society for the Ruptured and Crippled.  The private school opened at the Hospital for the Ruptured and Crippled in New York City on May 1, 1863 on Lower Second Avenue. (By John Osborne)
