REJOICING FOR DOUGLAS. – The democrats who sustain Judge Douglas and oppose the Administration on its Kansas policy have been celebrating his triumph by firing salutes of 100 guns in various places in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, &c. It is evident that the contest between the two wings of the democracy has resulted in serious damage to Buchanan and a vast accession to the influence of Douglas, who has thus become the man of the party. The President committed a blunder in quarreling with such a powerful friend, not upon a matter of principle, as is evident from the overtures now made to him to come back into the party.
